🧩 Challenge

Kiip wanted to break into the connected TV space, but building a custom Fire TV integration from scratch wasn’t feasible. Amazon didn’t yet offer native ad experiences for Fire TV apps, and direct access to the platform was limited.

🧠 Strategy

  • Identified an existing SDK partner with strong platform relationships at Amazon
  • Leveraged Kiip’s existing mobile SDK to prototype a CTV experience without net-new engineering
  • Positioned the initiative as a low-lift monetization test for Fire TV’s product org

🛠 What I Built

  • Defined a lightweight MVP experience with full-screen brand creative + reward logic
  • Mapped our mobile SDK capabilities to Fire TV's environment, adapting interaction design for TV
  • Coordinated cross-functional execution across Kiip, the SDK partner, and Amazon’s internal team

📈 Outcome

  • Launched the first reward-based native ad unit on Fire TV in under 90 days
  • Achieved 3x engagement vs. traditional CTV interstitials
  • Coverage in TechCrunch and other outlets positioned Kiip as an early innovator in the space
  • Used internally as a blueprint for future CTV monetization experiments
